The largest protected national park in Laos covering almost 6000 km². It is so large, it is part of three different provinces in Laos – Houaphan, Luang Prabang, and Xieng Khouang. Within the park, it is mostly mountains and hills with forest areas and rivers passing through. The park is also home to large biodiversity of flora and fauna including some endangered species. Plenty of community-based tourism projects are also present or being developed here.
